Headline: Polycrisis in the Anthropocene

On May 27-28, 2024, the Cascade Institute, the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), the Research Institute for Sustainability - Helmholtz Centre Potsdam (RIFS), and the Centre for the Study of Existential Risk will co-host scientists from around the world to work together to better understand the growing interconnections between the world’s problems. Contributions by attendees of the gathering—taking place at PIK in Potsdam, Germany—will inform the special issue Polycrisis in the Anthropocene by elaborating upon three major contributions of its lead article, ‘Global Polycrisis: The Causal Mechanisms of Crisis Entanglement’, and broadly advance polycrisis analysis, build a community of knowledge and practice, and generate new insights and strategies with which to address the world's worsening crises.
