Net4Cities 2nd Consortium Meeting
The Net4Cities consortium holds its second consortium meeting in Berlin on 11 and 12 March. Over the past year, the project has made significant strides, with much of the focus on laying the groundwork for deploying monitoring instrumentation across its 11 partner cities.
In close collaboration with city municipalities, port and airport authorities, environmental ministries, and other key stakeholders, the researchers have engaged in in-depth discussions to align their monitoring efforts with their partners' needs and priorities. These conversations have helped them identify synergies, common areas of interest, and opportunities for cooperation—particularly in the context of new and emerging pollutants and transport-related emissions. Alongside this, they've dedicated considerable time to the complex logistics of the instrument deployments now underway.
As the project moves into the next phase, this meeting will serve as a pivotal moment to reflect on achievements, exchange insights, and plan the next steps. Discussions will center on how the monitoring data will feed into modeling and source apportionment, what initial findings are revealing about emerging pollutants, and how the researchers can strengthen engagement with their partner cities while broadening outreach to additional stakeholders.
